“Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some
have greatness thrust upon ’em.”
– From Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
While someone may be born into great opportunity or great riches, no one enters the world a great sales professional. Except maybe my children–they were asking the doctors purposeful questions about their office and medical equipment needs immediately following the delivery. Typically, however, no one is born a great sales professional or a great sales leader. Greatness here can only be attained through hard work and practice. You can have all the talents and attributes in the world, but if you haven’t developed selling skills, then greatness remains out of your reach. If you do practice, rigorously and with unfailing commitment, and you have the basic attributes for successful selling, then greatness awaits you. Will you reach out?
