You may have heard the news that Disney has bought Lucasfilm and plans to release a new Star Wars movie in 2015. Fans of the original trilogy were largely disappointed with the prequels, so they’re apprehensive about today’s breaking news. If the filmmakers are smart, they’ll consider the “sales” aspect of releasing the movie even at this early stage. They’ll have “repeat customers,” no doubt, but most people in the seats can’t be the type to dress fantastically for the occasion if they want to make a profit and a motion picture that lasts a long, long time. They have to create a product that is actually well-suited to the target audience. That way, those later charged with selling the film can give prospective audience members good reason to consider seeing the film. – Kyle
